Grand Terra Mining Resources Inc. (GTMRI), Electric Metals Limited's (EML) Philippines-based partner, has been issued an Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) by the Environment Management Bureau, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (EMB-DENR).
The ECC with number ECC-OL-R08-2021-0229 has been granted to GTMRI for the construction and operation of the LIDE NICKEL VAT LEACH TECHNOLOGY DEMONSTRATION PROJECT following compliance of all the required documents by the regional office of the EMB-DENR which includes a NO-OBJECTION from the host barangay of Libertad in Isabel, Leyte Province.
The EML Process will not require a tailings dam as the barren soil is treated in-plant thereby rendering it safe for disposal back to the source mine pits. The Process also has no process water discharge saving on water costs and protecting the environment at the same time.

Grand Terra Mining Resources Inc., Electric Metals Pte Ltd's Philippines-based subsidiary, is now a bonafide Ecozone Export Enterprise of the Philippine Export Zone Authority (PEZA).
Electric Metals Limited, with Philippines-based partner Grand Terra Mining Resources Inc. (GTMRI), is building a mineral processing demonstration plant for the production of nickel and cobalt as hydroxide product. The plant, which is under construction, is located at the Leyte Industrial Development Estate (LIDE), Municipality of Isabel, Leyte Province, the same Ecozone hosting PASAR (copper cathode producer) and PHILPHOS (fertiliser producer). Once built, the demonstration plant can produce up to 10 tonnes of nickel equivalent per month as mixed hydroxides. As a registered Ecozone Export Enterprise, GTMRI is endowed with fiscal incentives such as low income tax rates and other benefits such as expedited importation among others.
